Position summary:

Scafa Financial Services, LLC is searching for a just-right person to jump right in and begin building deep relationships with our amazing clients. We’ve spent 30 years building our business from the ground up by earning our clients’ trust and respect. Now we’re looking for the right person we can confidently introduce to our clients and help build lasting relationships. Our ideal candidate needs to align well with the culture we’ve worked hard to establish.

Our firm is one of the top affiliates of Avantax Wealth Management®, a leader in tax-advantaged financial planning. We're thrilled to be among only a handful of Avantax’s more than 3,000 affiliates and to be recognized for extraordinary client service.

The Junior Wealth Advisor will report directly to the firm’s Champion Partner and/or Senior Advisor. This role has tremendous opportunity for growth and will be discussed in the interviewing process.

Does this sound like you? Here is an overview of what we are looking for:

  • You love the idea of absorbing wisdom from an accomplished team of financial advisors, yet you aren’t afraid to bring your unique voice, financial planning, and life experience to the table.
  • You have financial planning experience and are committed to doing the work to become a trusted advisor to our clients.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and would be excited about directly contributing to the evolution of our firm.
  • You’re dedicated to delivering comprehensive financial planning service to a group of amazing clients, who will be looking to you as their trusted advisor.
  • You have compassion, empathy, and care for financial planning clients.
  • You know that financial planning is not one-size-fits-all.
  • You know how challenging it can be to grow a financial planning practice, so you appreciate the idea of being able to focus on serving existing clients—not on prospecting.
  • You have deep respect for our profession and believe it’s crucial for many to have access to financial planning advice and guidance.
  • You recognize the value of incorporating tax planning into every financial planning relationship.
  • You prefer to having ongoing financial planning—not solely transaction-based—relationships with clients.
  • You are seeking a role which offers both longevity and a true career path.

Primary performance duties:

  • Contacting our clients on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being met and that they are being serviced according to their preferences.
  • Conducting investment research on fund companies and securities products.
  • Monitoring cash in advisory accounts, rebalancing portfolios and placing trades for accounts; maintaining systems such as Envestnet.
  • Identifying and pursuing targeted prospects when appropriate.
  • Meeting with clients to determine their needs and then creating customized financial plans using the 8-Point Tax Smart Framework.
  • Following up with clients according to ensure ideal client experience is met.

Primary job duties related to clients:

  • Assist clients in pursuing financial health through a consultative approach by:
  • Helping them understand their current financial situation.
  • Working with them to identify financial goals and identifying potential solutions.
  • Leading them through the process of implementation.

Serve as the primary Financial Professional contact (under the direction of the Senior Advisor) to:

  • Work toward lead meetings with clients.
  • Monitor client financial plans and investments independently.
  • Partner with the Senior Advisor to manage selected client relationships, when necessary.
  • Manage the activities of selected team members, when necessary.

Cultivate relationships with new prospective clients to:

  • Garner additional business referrals from existing clients.
  • Seek out new clients.

Primary job duties related to our firm:

  • Develop a clear understanding and application of the Firm’s existing Policies and Procedures.
  • Help enhance the existing system with new Policies and Procedures, coordinating with relevant staff and the Managing Principal; assist in implementing any approved changes and additions.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and broker/dealer rules.
  • Assist with the roles of the Support Advisor and/or Wealth Management Assistant, in the absence of this personnel.
  • Assist in maintenance of recommended fund lists.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CFP® (preferred) or CFP® candidate with 24-month time frame to complete designation.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses (to be obtained within 6-12 months if not already obtained).

Required Skills:
